Style

Ashtanga Mix – a powerful, dynamic, and invigorating style inspired by Rocket yoga created by Larry Schultz (yoga teacher for the Grateful Dead). The advanced postures in the Ashtanga method are made more accessible to everyone using elements of Vinyasa flow. During an Ashtanga Mix class, modified options will be made available for all advanced postures so students can dial the intensity to their liking and pave their own path. This class is recommended for students with some yoga experience.

Mobility and Recovery – This class is designed to improve overall mobility and flexibility in the body. This class involves dynamic stretching, mobility drills, and mobilization exercises that are geared toward athletes and any student looking to optimize their range of motion and prevent injury.

Restorative – a slower-paced Vinyasa flow with restorative postures that are gentler and improve flexibility.

Strength and Alignment – An alignment-focused class to improve posture and strength. Helps the body’s ability to maintain proper alignment during movement and at rest. The class involves a series of poses that are designed to create awareness and control over the body’s alignment. It can be a great way to reduce stress and improve overall well-being.

Tai Chi & Qigong – Fire and water, fun and educational, Yin & Yang. These are highly adaptive classes to meet the needs and interests of the group. From Qigong sets to Tai Chi forms, we will journey into traditional Chinese classics that have been passed down for thousands of years.

Vinyasa Flow – a style of yoga that links movement and breath to create a continuous flow. It involves linking a series of yoga poses together, moving from one to another with controlled breathing. The breath directs the timing and coordination of the movement. The word “vinyasa” comes from Sanskrit and means “to place in a special way.”

Yin Yoga – a very slow-paced, meditative style of yoga. In Yin yoga, poses are held for much longer periods of time than in other styles. The poses target the body’s connective tissues, such as ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks.  Yin yoga aims to increase mobility, stretch, and hydrate the body.

Levels

101: Basics. Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, Yoga basics incorporate simple flowing sequences to warm up the body and slower-paced movements to allow focus on alignment, strength, balance, flexibility, and breath. Classes will focus on specific parts of the body and fundamental poses that will help build the foundation of your practice.

201: All Levels. Students are invited to explore deeper yoga expressions and what our body tells us about ourselves. In 201, breath work is partnered with poses that move fluidly and thoughtfully, which help the student feel energized and calm simultaneously. All Levels offer opportunities to connect with yourself on the mat and modify as needed.

301: Advanced / Peak Pose Playground. The term “peak pose” typically refers to the most challenging yoga posture or postures in a sequence. This class is an opportunity to use breathwork to build strength and stamina to grow your practice with a goal in mind. You will be invited to find where you are personally with your goal on the mat, and modifications will be offered.
