The Yoga Collective is a Family

OWNERS

Avery Forbes

Avery began her yoga practice in 2013 as a way to mitigate the effects of training for a half marathon. What she found was a community of people who would change her life for the better. She found that yoga helped her in every area of her life, not just physically. She found out in a real way that “yoga is the practice of tolerating the consequences of being yourself” and that the awareness that Vinyasa yoga brings to all aspects of life is the most beneficial part of the practice. Avery’s classes are fun flows paired with her favorite music, designed to help her students leave the outside world for a while and focus on their practice and their breath.

Jennifer Marsh

Jennifer began consistently practicing yoga in 2019 at MTheory as a way to mitigate back problems. As she continued to practice, she grew to appreciate the breath and mindfulness that is practiced with yoga poses.  She found yoga to be therapy for her mind and body simultaneously. She completed her 200 RYT in 2021 at MTheory. When she is not practicing yoga, she is working as a neonatal intensive care (NICU) nurse and finds herself incorporating what she learns about herself on the mat in her job. Practicing with her family is one of her favorite aspects of yoga!

Seena Haines

Seena began her yoga practice in 2016 after being inspired by a pharmacy colleague who recommended yoga for stress relief. She instantly fell in love and felt the impact of the mind-body connection. Other benefits quickly realized were core strengthening and stamina building. The yoga community became a home. Promoting self-love, self-acceptance, and community engagement. Teaching yoga to others has become an extension of her teaching craft as a pharmacy professor. Seena is a board-certified health and well-being coach, mindfulness teacher, and positive psychology practitioner. Health is not just about what you’re eating or doing, it’s also about what you’re thinking, feeling, and saying. Yoga practice nourishes your mind, body, and soul.  Take time to make your soul happy!

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. Ashley completed her 200-hour teacher training in 2018 from M Theory Yoga in Ridgeland, MS, where she fell in love with Vinyasa Yoga. She loves to incorporate standing balance poses in her classes. Ashley also teaches Yin and Restorative yoga styles. When she is not on her mat, you will find her working as a Physical Therapist Assistant, spending time with her husband, Brett, and their fur kiddos (2 dogs, Remi and Voodoo, and 1 cat, Jazzi), visiting with family, exploring the outdoors, traveling or brunching at a cool spot around the Jackson Metro area with friends.

Jessica Reichert

Jessica is a RYT200 yoga instructor and Registered Nurse. She has studied various styles of yoga over the last 20 years. Her teacher training was integrative and comparative in nature with asana instruction in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Therapeutic, and Restorative yoga. Prior to her teacher training, she studied Classical Hatha Yoga via the Mysore Self Study method for several years. Jessica believes in the healing that movement, mindfulness, and meditation provide, and she strives to create an environment that nurtures growth and healing for others.

Julianne Andrews

Julianne began her teacher journey in 2013 while living in Dubai, UAE, starting with the Vinyassa style, where she took a 100hr course with the ETA College; then she continued with a 200 RYT training with David Magone, the founder of PranaVayu Yoga, a modern school of Vinyasa yoga practice based on Buddhist philosophy, meditation techniques, a structured approach to postural sequencing with periodization, and an innovative system of skeletal alignment.

Since moving back to the States, Julianne took on her 300-hour teacher training at Bella Prana Yoga in Tampa Fl as well as CE courses in Swing yoga, AIReal Yoga, and Prenatal yoga.  These trainings, combined with teaching abroad and around the states, and all the very inspiring teachers along the way, have influenced her teaching style, personality, attitude towards yoga, and what it means to practice it both on and off the mat.

For Julianne, yoga is not just a workout; it’s a way of life and an art form that brings a person inside themselves and allows them to find their truest expression and light. That original stardust that connects us to each other and the universe. Julianne’s goal is to be an enlightening, uplifting teacher; she wants her classes to be a place where one feels at home along with a little sweat, smiles, trust, and ease. A place to reflect inward, even for just a moment.

“Everything you need is already inside you”

Katherine Marsh

Katherine discovered yoga at the encouragement of her mom, Jennifer Marsh, as an outlet for anxiety. As a result, she discovered the many benefits and balance yoga brings to her life with breath and movement. She obtained her RYT200 in 2022 and has since taught over 100 hours. Her joy as a teacher is seeing her students discover what they are capable of on the mat. She loves practicing both intense Vinyasa flows and restorative yoga.

Lauren McMillin

Lauren began practicing yoga in college and completed her 200-hour Hatha-Vinyasa yoga teacher training with Southern Star Yoga Center in Oxford, Mississippi in 2017. With a background in dance, Lauren was captivated by the movement patterns found in yoga, soon discovering its transformational impact on her mind and soul. After working in both professional and collegiate athletics, Lauren saw how yoga could benefit athletes of all levels – regardless of age, experience, or injury.

With certifications in Katherine Roberts’ Human Performance for Athletes™ and Yoga for Golfers®, Lauren’s focus is to help students cultivate integrated joint and muscle stabilization, improved balance mobility, and greater range of motion, all while developing an inner awareness and conditioning the mind for life beyond the mat.

Morgan Miller

Morgan began practicing yoga in 2004 to complement her ballet and modern dance training while in high school. In college, she leaned on her Hatha, Sivananda, and later Vinyasa yoga practice to help relieve the stress and anxiety of her studies and complement her dancing. With a desire to empower and strengthen others in both mind and body, Morgan earned her RYT200 in 2015. Leaning into her dance training, Morgan weaves together movement and music to create a dynamic Vinyasa practice of moving meditation for her students. She works to create an accessible and judgment-free space for others to connect more deeply with themselves and their community.
